Our Story

Bright Light Early Learning Center is an independent preschool and child care center in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. Originally opened in 1989, Bright Light has been privately owned and operated by Nancy Gosselin since 1997. At that time, Nancy was a teacher in a national, corporate-owned child care facility. After the birth of her first child, she and her husband experienced the same frustration as so many other new parents who seek affordable child care but don’t want to sacrifice quality.

When Nancy began her journey as the owner and operator of Bright Light, her goal was to create a child care center that would offer the absolute best in early childhood education in a warm and loving environment — a “home away from home” that would focus on the individual needs of each child. She also sought to offer programs that are both flexible and affordable for working families.

With that foundation, Bright Light has grown into one of the area’s finest child care centers – dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment where a child’s love of learning begins to take root. From infants to school-agers, children at Bright Light explore their creative side and discover the essence of learning.

The quality of a child care program is only as good as the teachers who implement it. Unlike most of its competitors, Bright Light encourages its teachers to enroll their own children for free or at reduced cost. This ensures that no teacher is ever priced out of the quality programs she helps to create, and it has allowed Bright Light to attract and retain only the best. Parents also take comfort knowing that Bright Light’s desire to provide the highest quality child care experience is not just a professional aspiration — it is deeply personal.

Bright Light has grown from a small center operating out of a converted residence in 1989 to one of Chester County’s most respected child care providers. Despite its growth, Bright Light has remained faithful to the philosophy that makes Bright Light different.
