Camp Curriculum

Children enrolled in our summer program participate in a wealth of safe and enjoyable activities organized around weekly themes. In past years, for example, we have had “Sports Week,” where the campers went to a Phillies’ game, received a private tour of the Eagles’ locker room at Lincoln Financial Field, and put together their own Bright Light Olympics.

The summer camp curriculum combines active and exerting programs with quiet and instructional programs to provide a balanced, quality experience. On-site activities include teacher-directed projects, arts and crafts, board games, puzzles, computer time, outdoor sports, music, science and nature activities, story time, special events, and more.

While there is plenty to do at Bright Light, campers in our program do not spend their summer in our classrooms. They are on-the-go, typically spending three to four days per week off-site. Their field trips include one morning per week splashing and swimming in the pool at Marsh Creek State park or French Creek State Park. Other field trips include all-day excursions to local points of interest such as Dutch Apple Theatre, Reading Fightin’ Phillies, Terry Hill Water Park, Dutch Wonderland, Dorney Park, and a host of shorter, morning or afternoon trips, such as bowling, ice skating, or a visit to a local park.

Flexibility of Scheduling

One of the best features of Bright Light’s summer camp program is flexibility. Children are welcome to enroll for the entire summer, or for as few as two weeks. Children may also enroll on a full- or part-time basis. Our flexible schedule is designed to accommodate family vacations and other specialty camps. When you need us, we are here. You are not forced to pay for care you do not need. At the time of registration, parents simply choose the specific days and weeks their child will attend.

Fees and Tuition

There is a registration fee of $50 due at the time of enrollment. This fee is non-refundable and will reserve space in the summer program for your child. There is also an activity fee that covers the cost of all field trips, including admission where applicable and transportation.

Tuition is paid in advance – May 15 (June tuition due), June 15 – (July tuition due), July 15 (August tuition due).
